Over the current week of building Great Lakes Online Counseling, Jen and Joe have:
- Onboarded Rachel, the first clinician
- Discussed using a scheduling tool to allow for online client bookings
- Started promoting Rachel on social media
They’re putting Joe’s bio on the website as well to introduce him as the owner to prospective clients, so they know who’s who on the practice team.
Making the practice recognized on AI search tools
When you search, “Therapist near me” … I went into our Google Business profile today and just made sure that all the information was there. I added photos … I put in all our social media links, our phone number … But the biggest thing I took out of that talk was that they suggested we do a newsletter. (Jen)
One of the best ways Jen has learned to make the practice more visible and recognizable to Google and AI search engines is to publish newsletters linked to the practice website.
Whether you send a newsletter to your email list or publish it on your website, both are helpful and can boost your website’s reach.
Networking in the community
Jen and Joe discuss how they can connect with other aligned businesses and practices to boost their networking success.
In particular, Joe mentions networking with a business that prioritizes working with people who have gone through divorces, and creating a referral system with them.
There’s this group called Divorce Recovery, and pretty much every town has those, so I wonder if reaching out to some of [those] groups to have Great Lakes Online Counseling put on any sort of resources list … That’s really our ideal client. (Joe Sanok)
Next steps and upcoming work
1 – Jen will email potential referral clients to set up meetings with Joe
2 – Jen will set up a Calendly specifically for Joe to book meetings
3 – Joe will begin networking and building referral systems
4 – Joe will create social media content for Jen to post on the practice’s social media
