Rethinking conferences for connection

Joe reflects on what made the 2025 Group Practice Conference different. Instead of long, drawn-out sessions, every keynote was capped at 20 minutes, leaving space for authentic networking and meaningful discussions. The response was so strong that the 2026 conference in Traverse City will be three times larger and held in unique venues, including an art gallery.

“I always hated conferences where the parts that I love the most … that part was so small in the calendar.” (Joe Sanok)

Jane’s mission: helping the helpers

Dr. Emma First and Allie Joy introduce Jane, a platform designed for health care providers at every stage of practice. Jane was created with one goal in mind: to support “the helpers” by reducing administrative stress and freeing up more time for patient care.

“Jane’s mission is to help the helpers. We keep it super simple, but that’s the goal.” (Emma Furze)

For Allie, Jane replaced a patchwork of disconnected tools with one integrated platform. Scheduling, billing, charting, and communication are centralized, cutting down on errors and overwhelm. She highlights Jane’s supervision tools as especially powerful for practices with interns and associates, allowing tailored permissions and automated note sign-offs.

“With Jane, pretty much everything I need is in that one platform, which I feel like simplifies my to-do list.” (Allie Joy)

Payments, booking, and client engagement

Emma explains how Jane Payments has become the backbone of her practice. By requiring credit cards on file, she has dramatically reduced no-shows and late cancellations. Online booking has also been a game-changer: the majority of her clients now schedule appointments after hours, a convenience that improves retention.

“Jane Payments literally runs my practice … I require every new patient of mine to put a credit card on file.” (Emma Furze)

Beyond payments, Jane’s customizable note-taking templates and upcoming AI charting functions streamline documentation and save providers hours each week.

Looking ahead

Jane continues to evolve based on community feedback. Features in development include secure in-app messaging, deeper Google Calendar integration, and AI-powered charting. These improvements reflect Jane’s ongoing mission to listen to providers and respond with practical tools that meet their needs.

“Jane is listening to the community and building based off of what people want and need.” (Emma Furze)
