Why should you aim to grow by 100%?
1 – It’s a clear and measurable goal: We can easily say, “Last year I made $50k, this year I made $100k.”
2 – It’s reasonable to expand services that directly serve and uplift the community.
3 – There is a deep need for mental health counselling and support in communities across the country, and in other parts of the world.
4 – It’s inspiring and encouraging! When you grow, scale, and develop your practice, you can bring more people along, serve more folks, and make exponential good grow.
How to grow your practice by 100%
You can attract more of the right clients to your practice, which is going to help with more referrals, with getting a higher rate, and all of those different things. (Joe Sanok)
Here are some of Joe’s quick tips on how to double the scale, success, and profit of your practice. Of course, you can implement the one that suits your situation, goals, and priorities best:
- See double the number of clients you see in a week
- You could double your rates
- Hire clinicians to see more people within your practice
- Earn passive income through offering courses, writing books, or starting a podcast
However, the quickest and easiest way to boost your private practice income and continue to make a positive impact in your community is to hire clinicians into your practice.
So, when I look at the fastest way to double your income, it’s hiring clinicians into your practice. (Joe Sanok)
Connecting and converting with new clients
Whether you decide to start seeing more clients yourself, hire a clinician and get their schedule full – or both! – the key is to connect with and convert more clients, because you need to bring people through the door if you want them to sit in the chair.
The essential system is:
- Niche
- Networking
- Marketing
- User experience
- Follow up
They often say, “The fortune is in the follow-up!” (Joe Sanok)
Ethically asking clients for reviews and feedback
The first and important question you need to ask yourself when you want to source client reviews ethically and feedback is: “What is the intention?”
The intention is to not harm the therapeutic relationship [between therapist and client]. (Joe Sanok)
For example, one way in which you can ethically and confidentially source statistics to put on your website to showcase your great team is to use surveys.
Once a year, send out surveys to your clients to ask whether they would recommend their therapist that they are no longer seeing to a family member or loved one.
You can then use that statistic on your website to showcase your positive referral rate.
Secondly, another low-pressure way to invite clients to share reviews is to put up “Please review us” stickers in your office or near reception, so that the ask isn’t too direct between the therapist and client.
Get settled into your best-fit support system
You don’t have to keep reinventing the wheel. People have started practices from scratch, built them up, and later exited and sold them throughout our past decades.
Other folks continue, developing their practices to fit their deepening expertise, or changing interests in client care.
On whichever side of the process you are, Practice of the Practice has a membership specifically designed to support you through it.
Get the guidance, encouragement, accountability, and expertise that will help you and your practice scale to the next level!
