Donna’s Relationship with Productivity & Time Management

Donna was raised in a household oriented around time management. Her father was in the military and their family frequently moved around, with her attending 9 different schools across 9 years.

Consequently, she had to be disciplined and structured to finish her schoolwork. This had a positive impact later in her life when she joined the workforce, as she found that time management came naturally to her.

“I just happened to be the kind of person that was very good at being focussed and getting through work” – Donna McGeorge

Her positive work ethic led people to ask her for tips and training about time management, which led her to write and share her insights into productivity.

Donna’s Book, The ChatGPT Revolution

Donna set herself the goal of writing a book explaining how ChatGPT can benefit productivity and support businesses. She wrote her book in two parts: about getting curious and getting productive.

The productive part focuses on a person’s personal and professional life and how we approach new things.  The get-curious part focuses on trying to imagine where AI might lead us.

The Internet has become so integral about how we go about our business and I predict AI will be the same. I don’t yet know how, but I predict in the future we’ll look back on this time and say, ‘remember when AI was all about this, and now look what it’s become!’  – Donna McGeorge

Using ChatGPT in Business

Donna recognizes that she’s not going to be great at everything she does – no one is. So whilst she may be good at authoring books, she’s not as strong at writing website and social media copy.

She finds ChatGPT a reliable and useful tool that supports her whenever she’s feeling stuck about what to say in a given business scenario.

I’ll go to ChatGPT and say, ‘here are my two ideas, can you give me ten examples of what could be a third idea.’ –  Donna McGeorge

Other people have used ChatGPT to strengthen their professional communication, helping them to sound less blunt and more empathetic.

However, Donna does caution that whilst ChatGPT is a great tool, it doesn’t always get it right, and it’s a good idea to check the copy before uploading it. ChatGPT is prone to certain biases, and may also come up with facts that sound real, but are actually fictitious.

How to write good ChatGPT Prompts

Donna recommends the three P’s for ChatGPT prompts.

The first one is perspective or context. Like when you’re getting help from a human, the more you can describe the situation, or give them context, the better.” – Donna McGeorge

Donna suggests that you begin each prompt by telling ChatGPT ‘the why’ or context for writing.  The second P stands for purpose: the goal or outcome you’re looking for. Being very particular about the output format you want will go a long way to helping ChatGPT.

For example, if you need a blog post, an email, or a personalized message, tell ChatGPT and it will format your copy appropriately. Finally, the third P stands for personality: the tone or style of the content.

You can even be as specific as ‘the tone or style of the output I want is casual, engaging, funny, serious, and professional or even … ‘in the style of a Harvard Business Review article. –  Donna McGeorge
