How Sharon created her dream coaching program

Sharon was inspired and felt moved to help the pastors in her community.

The first thing I did was I sent letters to all the pastors in the area saying, “Hey, this is what we could help you with. There’s a lot of parenting problems right now, there’s a lot of anxiety problems right now, we could come in and we would be willing to run a program that could help you using your knowledge.” (Sharon Wegman)

A few pastors reached out to her for help with getting programs, but it wasn’t a huge response, so Sharon decided to try another approach. Sharon sought out a local consultant to specifically learn about how therapists can build a coaching program. She had a natural love of the pastors in her community because she understood a large part of their world, so she knew how she could help them.

I feel like pastors that knew me trusted me and were able to take it and feel like, “This is really good, everyone should take this” … Now it’s a little harder if you don’t know people, which is why I work a lot on trying to connect with the audience on my Facebook page and my Instagram because if a person gets to know you, they pursue you. (Sharon Wegman)

Offer support beyond the course

Once your audience has gone through the course, be sure to offer them additional support to allow them the chance to ask you questions while they adjust to and integrate the new knowledge that they have received through it. You can even offer an additional, second, more streamlined course for your audience to opt into once they have completed the first one since they are now more accustomed to you.

Creating the course content

It took Sharon about six months to create the content necessary for her course. With her consultant, she was then writing scripts, recording videos, outlining additional resources, and so forth.

Creating the curriculum is line upon line and building the scriptures and building upon all those types of things. (Sharon Wegman)

For the video editing, Sharon hired her office administrator to do the editing as well as the Canva products and services to bring everything together into a great package. Now the Trauma Informed Pastor course is live and ready on Sharon’s website!
